School Resource Officer (SRO) Division

The School Resource Office Program was established in May of 1999 by the Warren County Board of Education in conjunction with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. The program was established to assist and maintain a safe school environment for the students in Warren County Public Schools. The program will enable students to develop a positive rapport with law enforcement.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with the Warren County Board of Education has established a program known as the School Resource Officer Program. The S.R.O. program is a nationally accepted program involving the assignment of carefully selected and specially trained deputies to work directly in the school. The Sheriff Deputies assist the school administrators in keeping the school safe.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department deploy Deputy Sheriff’s who have met the Kentucky Peace Officers Professional Standards for Certification. The deputies receive annual training in their specialized field. They have full law enforcement authority in Warren County which includes school property.
The primary responsibilities of the School Resource Officers are:
· Enforcement of state statutes
· Prevention of crime
· Protection of life and property
· Suppression of criminal activity
· Apprehension and prosecution of offenders
· Regulation of non criminal conduct
· Enforcement of traffic and parking regulations
· Advise school personnel of potential security dangers
We are proud to have three qualified deputies, one in Warren Central High School, Warren East High School and Greenwood High School. Each deputy is placed in the Warren County Schools to SERVE & PROTECT OUR MOST VALUABLE RESOURCE.
